Old Jacobean style secretary desk-on-stand was made by the Lenox Shops Furniture Company from Canastota, NY. It is very well made of mahogany wood and features the geometric and figured applique shapes typical of the Jacobean pieces, many lovely compartments inside with a small drawer and two dovetailed drawers beneath the desk case. The hinges for the drop down desk lid are currently detached from the cabinet. The writing desk/lid is of frame and panel construction and the rails have been chipped as can be seen in the pictures. Even without the lid, this is an attractive piece!
