Add a truly old book to your library! "The Exploits and Triumphs, in Europe, of Paul Morphy, the Chess Champion" was published in 1859 so it is 156 years old! This "historical account of clubs, biographical sketches of famous players, and various information and anecdote relating to the noble game of chess" was written by Paul Morphy's secretary. It includes multiple illustrations including a sketched portrait of Paul Morphy himself. On the inside of the front cover is has a beautifully written, personalized note by the previous owner in 1864. This book is in good condition for its age with some stains and wear to the outside cover which is embellished with an elegant raised pattern on front and back. Inside the pages are in good condition and there does not seem to be any missing.
